I was on the fence on whether I should post a comic on the “Black Lives Matter” resurgence that is trending on social media. Many web-comics I follow are posting about it. It would be easy for me to just post a thing on Facebook and be done with it, check something off my “good deeds box”, and assuage my white guilt. However, this issue holds so much weight that merely posting something on social media feels trite. This topic warrants discussion that should be had in person and with a genuine heart.

I can’t solve problems of endemic prejudice in our society. But they stem from a place where we see someone as a demographic before we see them as a person. This comic features people of different backgrounds. My hope this narrative, and Amy’s interactions with these characters (awkward as they may be at times), can make a tiny chip in the walls we put up from people who are different than us.
