I had another comic slated to post this week, but I decided focus on another trend that, while having a positive message, is actually backfiring. When the “challenge” is to post a selfie for a good cause, of course everyone and their mother is going to do it. Because that’s easy. You know what’s also easy? Gossiping, passive-aggressive criticism, reckless inclusion of others not like you, one-upping, humble-bragging, and false pretenses. These are subversive things women do to each other all the time, and social media amplifies that. Maybe we don’t even do this consciously. Just something to think about when you snap that selfie…
